Library designed in old-world style.
Created this library to evoke a sense of timeless
elegance, with an inviting atmosphere for reading,
night or day. The design emphasized the classic order
and proportions of the room. The color scheme
employs shades of Old Gold and traditional English Blue
in both the window treatments and original 19th
century color etchings from Italy.
The goal was to create an ambiance that evokes
learning, reflection and travel -- both to Europe,
literally, and figuratively to imagination, though
reading.
Hardwood floors and reproduction-period furniture
contribute to the effect.
